As an Accounting Professional, you will play a critical role in supporting a diverse portfolio of clients by maintaining accurate financial records, performing account reconciliations, processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, and assisting with month-end and year-end accounting activities. You will work closely with the Bookkeeping Manager, senior team members, and the Owner to ensure client accounts are managed efficiently and accurately.
The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, highly organized, and comfortable balancing multiple priorities while consistently meeting deadlines. A strong understanding of accounting principles, proficiency in QuickBooks, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service are essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and complete financial records for multiple clients across various industries.
Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with GAAP and company procedures.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
Perform monthly bank, credit card, and balance sheet account reconciliations.
Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Review transactions for accuracy, completeness, and proper classification.
Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and variances.
Accounts Receivable
Generate and distribute client invoices.
Record customer payments and maintain accurate receivable records.
Monitor outstanding balances and assist with collections activities when necessary.
Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing issues.
Accounts Payable
Process vendor invoices and expense reports accurately and efficiently.
Ensure timely payment of vendor obligations.
Maintain vendor records and supporting documentation.
Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies.
Financial Reporting
Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
Analyze financial data and identify unusual trends or variances.
Review reports for accuracy prior to client delivery.
Support management with ad hoc reporting and financial analysis requests.
Client Support & Team Collaboration
Respond professionally and promptly to client inquiries and information requests.
Communicate financial information clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.
Collaborate with team members to ensure deadlines and client expectations are met.
Assist with special projects, process improvements, and system enhancements.
Support the Owner and Bookkeeping Manager with operational and accounting initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and/or QuickBooks Desktop.
Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Experience working in a client-service, public accounting, bookkeeping, or outsourced accounting environment.
Experience supporting multiple client accounts simultaneously.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
