Antique Mission bed made of mahogany not oak (which is unusual). Includes tall headboard at approximately 62" high; footboard at approximately 41" high; side rails, hardware and slats. The bed is approximately 5' wide and accommodates a double mattress.
Not sure of its exact age? But the sturdy construction and attention to detail (e.g., notched side rails for the support slats), hardware, and rich patina indicate (to me) that it's old? I bought it at an antique store and used it for years; it's a very solid/secure bed, but I don't have any other history on it.
While the headboard is tall, Photos #1 and #2 visually exaggerate the height...because they show the bed with only a box spring (ie., no mattress on top of it). Photo #3 is a better representation of actual height because it shows the bed with box spring AND mattress.
Photo #4 is a close-up of the old hardware that connects the side rails to the headboard and foot board.
Bed comes with headboard, footboard, two side rails and three slats. (No box spring or mattress are included.)
